Huu Vi's Obituary
Huu Vi , age 98 of Pinellas Park, Florida passed away Sunday December 10, 2017 in her home with her loving family by her side.
Huu was born in Guangdong, China on May 5, 1919. At the age of 4, she migrated to Vietnam, a Southeast Asian Country where she grew up, married, had a loving family and eventually arrived to the dream land United States of America in June 1984 and obtained a U.S. Citizenship on 8/31/2006.
As the family continued to grow, families and friends were her passion and delight. She centered her affection upon her family and made her home the circle of happiness for family and friends. She loved to see her grandchildren grow up over the years happily and watched grandchildren and great-grandchildren become successful in both their education and careers.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Luc Luong in 1972, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Huu is survived by her children: Victor Luong, Yung Luong Lau, Lien Luong, Sean Luong, Muoi Luong, Ngan Luong Huynh; together with 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Huu is also survived by her younger sister Chanh Vi, younger brother Phat Vi, nieces and nephews in Vietnam.
Family prayer will be from 3pm – 5pm immediately following will be the visitation from 5pm – 8pm on Friday December 15, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home 5750 49th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33709.
Funeral ceremony will be on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 7am, 9am family and friends will drive to Huu’s home and then proceed to her final resting place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Phap Vien Minh Dang Quang, a Buddhist temple in Town N’ Country Florida or Friend of Lepers in Vietnam (www.nguoicui.org) in Tustin, California. A donation box will be placed in the Chapel on visitation and funeral services dates.
The family wished to thank all the doctors and nurses at St. Petersburg General Hospital, caregivers at Suncoast Hospice and the many friends who have said prayers for Huu and the family.
