Howard Buchalter's Obituary
On Thursday, August 19th, Howard Buchalter, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 92.
He was born to Samuel and Mollie Buchalter on August 19th, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended school and helped at his father’s pharmacy. He married Irene Buchalter on August 28th, 1950. He graduated with a B.S. in Business from New York University in 1952. He was a corporal in the National Guard. Howard was a leading sales consultant at various furniture companies including B. Altman Department Store. He and Irene raised three children, Linda, Stephen, and David.
Howard was very accomplished in music and sports. He was a professional drummer who led his own band, The Howard Brooks Orchestra. He was a national class billiards player who was good enough to play against the famous “Minnesota Fats”. He was a carpenter, painter and general handyman who would always lend a helping hand to others. He was fun, engaging and people loved to be around him because of his genuine concern and his fun loving often gregarious nature.
Howard is survived by his sister Beverly, wife Irene, three children Linda, Stephen, and David, 3 grandchildren, Michele, Gregg, and Kelly, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father Mollie and Samuel.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 AM on Saturday September 4th at the Blessed Sacrament Church -11565 66th Ave North, Seminole. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Park - 5750 49th Street North, St Petersburgh.
