Herschel W Butler Sr's Obituary
Herschel Watson Butler, Sr .better known as Tom, entered into Glory on March 13, 2021 peacefully in his Lakeland, FL home with his wife Durinda by his side. He was born January 17, 1919 in Pembroke, GA to William and Ann Belle Butler. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and three older siblings, Ethel, Ellis and Mae. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Durinda Butler; daughter Patricia White of Largo, FL; son, Herschel Butler Jr. (Gulmira) New Tampa, FL; step-daughters, Laurinda Walls (Edward) Jacksonville, FL; Bethany Falkenstein (Stephen) Plant City, FL; Liberty Libretti (Gary)Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Thomas Butler (Renee) Dunlap, IL; Christopher Butler (Bethany) Southlake TX;, Rhett Butler New Tampa, FL; Jennifer Walls Dunnellon, FL; Stephen Falkenstein II, Lakeland, FL, Michael Falkenstein Plant City, FL, Khelsea Boyd UNF Jacksonville, FL, Gary Libretti, Jr. Chicago IL;, Lauren Libretti New York City, NY; Logan Libretti UCF Orlando, FL; Six Great Grandchildren James and Jacob Butler Dunlap, IL; Levi, Miles, Graham, and Claire Ellis Butler Southlake, TX
Tom was a WWII Navy Veteran serving from 1941 until 1947 as a First Class Electricians Mate. He worked with electric pumps and retired from the City of St. Petersburg. Tom was a member of Harvest Assembly of God in Lakeland. He served as a greeter for many years known for his smile, handshake and his ties. Tom was a powerful prayer warrior and will be greatly missed.

FUNERAL SERVICE to be Saturday March 20, 2021 at
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th St N, St Petersburg, FL 33709.
Visitation from 11:00 am-12:00 pm followed by service at 12:00 pm.
Tom will be interred at Royal Palms Cemetery South, St. Petersburg, FL following the service. Masks are required
