Henry E Mulder's Obituary
Henry (Hank) E. Mulder, of Largo, Florida passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2018 with his family by his side. Hank was born February 7, 1927 in Hoboken, New Jersey, the son of Henry and Helen (Uhland) Mulder. Prior to his graduation from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with an Electrical Engineering degree, he served in the United States Navy. He married Eileen Cannon June 7, 1954. The family and many friends have lost a wonderful funny peaceful man. His interests were gardening, foreign languages (Dutch, German, Farsi, Russian, and Italian), collecting coins and canes, tasting and rating wines, painting, whittling, chess, bridge, pinochle, the New York Yankees, reading westerns (every single Max Brand ever published), Aikido, Tai Chi, magic tricks, and volunteering to provide tax consultation. He lived to make Eileen happy. His sense of humor, keen wit, and willingness to help others will be greatly missed. Upon return from the Navy, he spent his entire 37-year career with AT&T subsidiaries working mostly on satellite telecommunications and missile defense systems. He had many permanent duty locations, including New York City, Whippany, Basking Ridge, Tehran, Kwajalein, and many temporary duty locations worldwide. He and his wife loved to travel and some favorite places to visit were the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. They took 35 cruises together, once going completely around the world. Hank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eileen; daughter, Robin Eileen; daughter, Gail Marie; son, Henry Alan; daughter, Kimberly Ann; sister, Rita; grandchildren, Jessica, Jason, Jacob, Kaitlin, Caroline, Helena, Annika, and Joshua; and great grandchildren, Dillon, and Avery. He was reunited in Heaven with his parents and is interned at Memorial Park in St. Petersburg, Florida.
