Mr Henry G Ghormley's Obituary
Mr. Henry G. Ghormley of St Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Sabal Palms Health Care Center, Largo, Florida. He was 90.
Henry was born July 4, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the US Army and served until his honorable discharge March 18, 1947. During his time in the Army, he was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War Ii Victory Medal and achieved the rank of T/3.
While in New York, he met and ultimately married his wife of 65+ years, Elaine Eklund Ghormley. They moved to Florida where he worked in the Veteran's Administration and received his degree as a registered nurse. He worked and maintained his license as a RN from 1963 until 2016.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Elaine (September 15, 2015). Henry is survived by his son, Jack and his wife Silvia; two grandchildren, Jason Ghormley and Samara Palacios and his great great granddaughter, Sofia.
