Helyn Thrapsimis' Obituary
Helyn Thrapsimis, 96, of Treasure Island, Florida passed peacefully on October 14, 2025. Born in Peru, Indiana, Helyn dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was very involved in the Greek Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg and served many years as President of the women’s Philoptochos Society of St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church.
Helyn is predeceased by her husband, James Thrapsimis, her parents Phani and Peter Mavrick and her only brother, Theodore Mavrick.
Helyn is survived by her two daughters Anna Ruskin (Les), Petrina Whallen (Donald) and her only granddaughter, Gabriella Ruskin.
A private service for Helyn will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:30 am, at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church, 3600 76th Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33710, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Stephanos Philoptochos Society or Empath Suncoast Hospice.
