Helene "Helen" Bailey Sauls' Obituary
Sauls, Helene “Helen” Bailey, 88, of St. Petersburg, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019. She was born in Middletown, CT and her parents moved to St. Petersburg, where they were pioneers in the area. They owned and operated a fruit/juice stand on Central Avenue; B & B’s/hotels and gas stations. Helen was a graduate of St. Pete High School. She worked for Northeast High School as a cook for many years. Helen was an AVID Nascar fan-namely Joey Logano, who was from her hometown. She loved baking; everyone would always get a pound cake and her pimento cheese. Helen’s family was her hobby though; each grandchild and great-grandchild had their own special relationship with their Nana; she was also the family secret keeper. All through her life, she was a lover of all animals but more so dogs; many photos were taken with her holding a dog. Helen is survived by her sister who was always by her side, Sylvia Bailey; her brother Eugene Bailey and his wife Andrea; daughter LeeAnn Sauls Bowen and her husband Charles; their children: granddaughter Christine Bowen Massa and her husband Phil; their children great-granddaughter Samantha Massa and great-grandson Anthony Massa; granddaughter Cassandra Bowen and her husband Cody Williams; daughter Loreen Sauls Miller and her husband Thomas; their children: granddaughter Laura Miller Peters and her husband Kyle, their children: great-granddaughter Charlotte “Charley” Jane Peters; grandson Tommy Miller; daughter Anita Sauls Weaver and her husband Mark and their children Victoria and Trent Weaver. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Billy, Al, Greg, Alan, Mike, Bruce, Brian, Jeannette, Blair, Gayle, Bob, Katie, and Tara. Helen also has a large extended family, too numerous to mention individually.
