I didn't know Helen very long, but I won't forget her. I met her at Crossbridge Church. As part of the women's ministry team I was given a list of women to pray for-Helen was on that list. Let it be known that while the church has been a blessing to Helen & her family, Helen had been a blessing to the church! She had a strong and sweet spirit wiling to help in any way, shape or form!
One day I won't forget is when Helen called me. I don't even remember the prayer request I'd submitted, I just remember being blown away that this tiny frail woman had prayed for me with such power and purpose and that she gave ME comfort. Despite what she was going through it was evident the power of the Holy Spirit was working and that when God calls, he equips! Heb13:21/ 2Tim1:7/Acts1:8/ Phil 4:13
Helen reminds me of the Apostle Paul who although was in despairing conditions, he refused to give up and focus on his circumstances. His only concern was reaching out to others. In the short time Helen was part of the church, in her weakened condition, she probably reached out more for the kingdom than a lot of us do in a lifetime. For me that's a lesson and a legacy to be remembered and to follow!
One last thing I'll always remember is what Helen said to Pastor Rick- "God didn't give me the miracle I wanted" (healing) "but he gave me the miracle I needed" (salvation).

I remember Helen and Gary shopping in Albertson's on 66th Street before it became Publix. I was a cashier there for 16 years. Helen was always pleasant when coming through my line. She and Gary would usually have their teenage daughters with them. Marilynn Fleming
I met Helen only once but through the magic of Facebook, we became friends! I enjoyed reading her up beat postings, describing her days (some better than others). And above all, shining through like a bright light, was her deep love for her Dearest Gary, her children, grandchildren, all family members, in fact everyone she'd ever known!
