Mrs. Helen M. Albright's Obituary
Helen Laidley Albright was one of four children born to Theodore and Pearl Laidley, on the Laidley Ranch, in the Hill Country just West of San Marcos, Texas. She is preceded in death by her older brothers, Guy and Pete and her older sister, Winnie Clewis. She is survived by her husband Warren Lee Albright of St. Petersburg, FL.; her daughter Joy Stanford and husband Lt. Col. Nolen B. Stanford, of Austin, TX.; stepsons Eddie, David and Victor Albright; granddaughter Sheri James, husband Andrew and their children Christopher and Nicholas of Austin, TX; grandson Mark R. Stanford, wife Karen and their son Travis of St. Petersburg, Fl. Helen is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring, loving friends. Helen had an active childhood growing up on a ranch with horses, cows, pigs, chickens and all the other elements that comprise a working ranch. A bit of a tomboy, she was as comfortable on horseback as she was in the kitchen helping Grannie cooking berry cobbler. She had a normal post WWII adolescence growing up in a small central Texas town. Becoming enamored with aviation, Helen took a position at Gary Army Air Field as a flight dispatcher. It was here that she met her husband Lee of 54 years. The couple lived for a short time in Sunnyvale, CA. later settling in St. Petersburg, FL. where Lee was employed by the St. Petersburg Fire Department until he retired in 1982. During this same time period, Helen worked as the office manager for Reynolds Architectural. The couple has lived in their north St. Petersburg residence for over 53 years where they regularly attended Central Bible Church as Born Again believers who are very strong in their Christian faith.
