Lt. Col. (Ret.) Harriett M. Lloyd's Obituary
Lloyd, Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Harriett M., 94, of St. Petersburg, died on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at Westminster Palms. She was born in Kansas City, MO and came to St. Petersburg in 1965. She was a graduate of Florida Southern College and Charity Hospital School of Nursing. She joined the Army in 1944 and served in Germany during WW II. After WW II she served in Germany again and also in Bermuda. She transferred to the Air Force and retired in 1965 as a Lt. Colonel. She was awarded the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the WW II Victory Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Hour Glass Device, and the Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp. She was a 50 year member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She is survived by her sister, Mabel Easton of St. Petersburg and many cousins.
