Mrs. Harriet J. Fisher's Obituary
Harriet J. Fisher, 89, died peacefully on April 26, 2016. She graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and she obtained a Master’s Degree from the University of Tampa in Administrative Education. She was an author and published poet. She was a high school and middle school teacher of English and Latin for 30 years; 3 years in Michigan and 28 years in Florida. She retired in June of 1992. She also served as church organist for 30 years at Calvin Christian Reformed Church. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, FL.
She was the wife of the late Professor Fred Fisher of the University of Tampa. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Hanna of Albuquerque, NM, and her 4 children: David Fisher of Livonia, NY; Deborah Fisher of Mt. Desert ME; Miriam Fisher Schultz of Clearwater, FL; and Roy Fisher of Havana, FL. She has 5 grandchildren: David Jr., Danielle, Sarah, Jeremy, and Alana and 3 great grand children: Sienna, Jacob, and Natalia.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th Street N., St. Petersburg, FL on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
She was loved dearly by all who met her. She was a wonderful mother and friend, and she will be greatly missed.
