Grandma was such a special person—I loved her very much. She was my last living grandmother, and she will truly be missed. I’ll never forget the days Zack and I would stop by after the beach, and I’d fall asleep on her couch. Or the evenings we’d have dinner at her house, where she welcomed everyone in and made a seat at the table for all of our friends—whether she knew them well or not.
But I’d say my fondest memories of Grandma were our long conversations about history. For her, that meant recounting her days working in D.C. with former presidents and diplomats or reminiscing about WWII-era musicians like Woody Guthrie.
Grandma was special, and as much as it hurts that she’s no longer with us, I find comfort in knowing she’s reunited with her late husband—whom she spoke about until her last days.
Rest easy, Grandma.
Love,
Jason
