Gustavo Francisco's Obituary
In Loving Memory
Gus Francisco
December 17, 1940 – July 14, 2025
Gus Francisco, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed peacefully into heaven on July 14, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Cojímar, Cuba, Gus was the cherished son of Eloy and Hilda Francisco.
In 1956, Gus immigrated to the United States with courage and determination. He built a successful career as a commercial photographer in New York, capturing countless memories and moments through his lens. In 1992, he moved to Florida to enjoy a slower pace of life while continuing to explore his many passions.
He had two daughters, Adrienne de Nyse and the late Michelle Francisco with his first wife Ligia Francisco. Gus later married the love of his later life, Nance Francisco, who remained his devoted partner and companion.
Gus lived life to the fullest. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking, traveling, and spending time with those he loved. A true music lover, especially of Latin music, Gus also enjoyed dancing and played the trumpet in a band during his youth. His joy for life, his laughter, and his generous heart left an impression on everyone he met.
Gus was preceded in death by his parents Eloy and Hilda Francisco, his daughter Michelle Francisco, his grandson Nicholas de Nyse, and his nephew Christopher Francisco.
He is lovingly survived by his wife Nance Francisco, daughter Adrienne de Nyse and her husband Robert; grandson Jacob de Nyse; and first wife Ligia Francisco. He also leaves behind his sister Ellie Roche and her husband Bob; their son Bobby Roche; his brother Pete Francisco and wife Janet; his stepdaughter Tiffany Russell and her husband Eddie and their children Elizabeth and Emmett as well as many extended family members and friends.
