This poem has been in my family for over 30 years. Read by myself to my loved ones, friends and especially my mother and father.
I love to share it with others that have experienced a loss, a loss of a child, friend, realitive, loss of one of our elderly and more importantly losses of our beloved.. I find it to be a very profound poem regarding death and the reality of what is after.
I hope you find comfort as well...
Do Not Stand By My Grave And Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's
huah, I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
