Larry,
All of us in Georgia are thinking of you today. We will truly miss our adventurous uncle Gerue. He was always full of stories and life lessons. We can only hope we each got some of his longevity. We know he's in heaven in his favorite fishin spot.

Smitty was an icon of Sand Dollar Lane and all the lives he touched. Will miss his tales of mullet fishing and the "old Manasota Key". RIP
Larry,
I am sorry for your loss. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your dad was the best. I always enjoyed listening to his stories about his life. He truly lived life to the fullest and was always young at heart. We will truly miss him. I know my kids always loved seeing and spending time with Mr. Smitty. They don't make them like your Dad and my Granddaddy. I guess them thinking they was twenty has helped them stay so young at heart. You know ninety to nothing always going.

Mr.Smitty was one best fishermen I knew I have lots of memories with mr.Smitty.
I sure will miss seeing our englewood neighbor mr.smitty .I'm glad I'm lucky enough to say I knew him and I have some great memories and story's of him he will be missed .
We met Smitty and Larry for the first time upon arrival at their home on the beach. Smitty welcomed us smiling with boxes of oranges and grapefruit he had picked for us. You know when you meet someone like Smitty he is a very genuine person and feel very comfortable talking with him. Through the years he has taught me to toss a cast net and gave me a few of his secret fish 'in spots. Told me of his hunting adventures. He shall be remembered by us always and be dearly missed. Dear Larry, Smity was the first neighbor who came over and called me "Darlin" , "I'm so happy to meet you.". Always a Big Hug, and we would have a nice visit. Told me Florida stories that I will always treasure. I'm so happy that I got to know him, he was a Beautiful person and we all will miss him. Robyn Sunada Shiflet
