Mrs. Gertrude Breton's Obituary
Breton , Gertrude E., age 85, transitioned peacefully at her daughter's home in Potomac Falls, VA. on February 2nd, 2011. Gert was born on January 28, 1926 in Vienna, Austria. Before marrying in 1952, she worked as a secretary in the Vienna City Hall. She lived in Germany, Okinawa, Texas, Maryland and Massachusetts before settling down in St. Petersburg in 1970. She belonged to Loyal Order of Moose in St. Petersburg, Fl. for over 20 years. During that time, Gert was an avid golfer and bowler on the Moose Leagues and continued golfing almost until the time of her death. Later in life, some of her favorite pastimes included reading, dancing, puzzles and watching Andre Rieu & Xena Warrior Princess DVD's.
Gert was the loving wife of Albert P. Breton who preceded her in death in 2003. She was the loving mother of Debra Breton of Potomac Falls, VA and her partner Debbie Woods, son Raymond and Robyn Breton of St. Petersburg. Surviving relatives are niece Sheila (Ken) Wright, St. Petersburg, nephew John (Doreen) Sloman, Seminole, cousins Franzi and Rudi Pavuza, Vienna, Austria and her extended family; the Mogavero's of Boston, MA. Service will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5750 49th St. N., St. Petersburg, on February 9th. Viewing will be at 10:00am with funeral service to follow at 11:00am.
