Gerald Thomas Nolan, 77, passed away on June 18, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Born on September 5, 1947, in Nyack, New York, Gerald lived a full and meaningful life rooted in dedication to family, service to others, and personal resilience.
Gerald earned a bachelor's degree and went on to work in accounting for O & R Utilities, where he dedicated 20 years of service. His professional life was marked by diligence and commitment. Beyond his career in accounting, Gerald was especially proud of his time as a fireman with Hook & Ladder—a role that reflected his deep sense of duty and community spirit.
A lifelong resident of both Nyack, New York and St. Petersburg, Florida, Gerald found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved cats and had a passion for baseball and football. Gardening brought him peace and satisfaction, allowing him to connect with nature in his own backyard. One of the most defining aspects of Gerald’s journey was his involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous; he remained sober for over 30 years—a testament to his strength and perseverance.
Gerald’s legacy lives on through his children, Olivia Cooper and Tom Nolan; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also shared a special bond with his best friend, Stu.
He was predeceased by his father Harold L. Nolan Sr., mother Edith May Nolan (Leightley), and his siblings.
Gerald will be missed by many.
