Gerald Doty's Obituary
Gerald Eugene Doty, 90, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born on December 14, 1934, in Beecher City, Illinois to parents Benjamin Franklin Doty and Dorothy (Durbin) Doty. Gerald lived a full and vibrant life that spanned nine decades. He was known for his resilient spirit and being an outgoing man who truly enjoyed life and the people around him.
Gerald shared many years of marriage with his former wife, Irene Schuyler Doty, who preceded him in death July 2nd, 2018. Together they built a family grounded in strength. He was also preceded in death by his son Bradley Eugene Doty April 29th, 2005, daughter-in-law Michelle Doty (Urbano) October 16th, 2024, and younger sister Sharon Arlene Doty December 2nd, 2017.
He is survived by his children Kerry Rex Doty, Valerie Doty Harrah, and Jeffrey Alan (Charessa Stepanek) Doty. Gerald was a proud grandfather to Skyler Doty Harrah, Danielle Doty Harrah, and Jayden Alan Doty. His enduring friendships were also a meaningful part of his life, including Janice Stir.
Gerald’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched with his spirited personality and love for life. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
