George Frederick Stevenson, 65, passed away on September 15, 2024, in St Petersburg, Florida. Born on July 21, 1959, in Rochester, New York, George dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his faith.
George proudly served in both the Marine Corps and the Army National Guard, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment. His military career was marked by a steadfast dedication to service, which continued even after his active duty through his involvement in veterans' affairs.
He was a devoted member of Park Street Baptist Church for over two decades, where he found a strong community of faith and fellowship. His commitment to his church and its community activities was a significant part of his life.
George was a graduate of Ohio Baptist College, which further solidified his foundation in his faith and his desire to serve others.
He is survived by his spouse, Barbara Stevenson; his mother, Cynthia Stevenson; his step-son, Kurt; and his siblings, Sue, Debbie, and Robert. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his father, Robert Stevenson.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Bay Pines National Cemetery at 12:30pm to honor George's life and legacy. His commitment to his family, his nation, and his faith will be remembered by all who knew him.
