Genevieve Van Patten's Obituary
Van Patten, Genevieve Souva ,95, died Sunday August 25, 2013. She was born in Copenhagen, NY and lived most of her life in Black River, NY, summering in Cape Vincent NY and wintering in St. Petersburg, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Morris C. Van Patten in 2008. She was a Florida State Professional Suffleboard player for American Cove. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 30 years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved to tat and won a 1st & a 2nd place prize for her tatting at the Florida State Fair. She also had published poetry.
She is survived by 2 sons, M. Carlton Van Patten and partner, Richard Lougheed, and David Van Patten and wife, Frances; 2 granddaughters Kelly Nicholas and husband, Pete; Casey Lane and husband, Nathan; 3 great grandchildren, Elliott and Naomi Lane and P.J. Nicholas.
A viewing will be held Fri Aug. 30th from 10-11am with a service to follow at 11am at Wesley United Methodist Church, 301 37th Ave. N, St Petersburg.
