Genevieve Jane Orinick's Obituary
Orinick (Seprish), Genevieve "Genni" Jane, went home to God on Tuesday, April 22nd, surrounded in love after a yearlong valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer and recently congestive heart failure. Born in Show Shoe, PA on July 4th, 1922, she lived a rich, full life. She attended St. John's Catholic School, Bellefonte High School, and Robert Morris Business School in Pittsburgh, PA. Coming from a family of eleven plus a half sister and brother, she shared her love with all. Only one sister, Verona Skibitski, survives her. For many years she served as a housekeeper for Catholic priests and later was a supervisor of a EKG department in hospitals in the Washington, DC area. She moved to Florida in the 1970s where she was a Resident Manager for Fickling & Walker and handled a 220 unit apartment complex in Largo for many years. When she retired, she married Michael Orinick (deceased 1992) and had many friends with whom she enjoyed socializing and especially dancing. Her joys were to golf, go to the beach, follow the Tampa Bay Rays, and play a spirited game of cards. Most importantly, she loved being with her family and friends who all knew her as a loving, kind, vibrant, strong, caring, loyal, humorous, robust, loving woman. A devout Catholic, she was formerly a member of Holy Family and most recently St. Paul Church in St. Petersburg. She loved her "sisters" in the Confraternity of Christian Women (CCW) and often modeled in their fashion shows and was a member of the Lower Pinellas Deanery. She was a member of small community prayer and Bible reflection where she continued to study and share the word of God. In her final weeks, Hospice provided wonderful compassionate care that helped her and her family see her to the other side where she now joins so many loved ones in heaven. Genni is survived by her adoring daughter, Bernadette ("Bret") Seprish, and granddaughter, Hadley Seprish, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her constant companion the last year, her faithful little dog, Big Boy. Viewing is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 26th, immediately followed by a service.
