Genevieve J. Johnson's Obituary
Johnson, Genevieve J., 95, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (Jan. 10, 2007) at home under the care of her family and Hospice. Born in Ripley, NY, she came here in 1941 from Silver Creek, NY and opened her home to her friends and family who soon followed. She became a member of St. Vincent's Episcopal Church in 1964 and volunteered countless hours in their thrift shop in Gulfport. She worked at Azalea Middle School until 1980 and enjoyed bingo, cards, bargain hunting, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. In 2000, she moved to the Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay, and quickly made friends and enjoyed her sunny apartment. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert M. Johnson and is survived by her only child, Betty J. Collins of Ft. Myers; two brothers, Frederick Muscarella of Angleton, TX and Joseph Muscarella of Sacramento, CA; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jennifer and Paul Miller of St. Petersburg; three grandsons and two daughters-in-laws, Ellen and Randy Collins of Lehigh Acres, FL, Douglas Collins of Naples, FL, and Michelle and Paul Collins of Land O Lakes, FL; three great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
