Gene I Hasbrouck's Obituary
HASBROUCK, Gene I. Hutton, 93 most recently of Clearwater went to be in the loving care of our Lord & Savior, Sunday evening 9/8 after years of struggling with a weak heart. Born in Byesvile, Ohio on November 9, 1919. Gene married William E. Hasbrouck on December 28, 1937 (William preceded her in death on June 6, 2006) they moved to St. Petersburg from Youngstown, Ohio in 1956. Gene was a lifetime Golden Rule employee of the JC Penney Co. spending most of her career in the housewares dept. at the Tyrone Mall store. Together Gene and Bill raised four children; David Hasbrouck (Tijuana Mexico), Diane Lead beater, (Clearwater, FL), Bill Hasbrouck (Green Cove Springs, FL), and Betty Decker (Austintown, OH), collectively they blessed Gene with 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Gene is survived by her children and their offspring and her sister Bernice Brandenstein (Clearwater, FL). Gene was an avid traveler, Gene and her husband traveled extensively through every state in the US except Hawaii as well as many countries in Europe. The photographs and videos made during these traveling experiences would make a full length travelogue. Most recently Gene attended Christian Worship Services with Diane and Don at the Salvation Saloon in Clearwater. Gene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by anyone that knew her. There will be a Memorial Service at the North Dunedin Baptist Church, 1595 Michigan Blvd. Dunedin, Fl, on Sunday, September 22nd at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. All friends and family of Gene are encouraged to attend.
