Gary Michael Wojtasik's Obituary
On Monday, September 13, 2021, Gary Michael Wojtasik, loving son and brother, passed away at age of 66.
Gary was born on July 5, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois to Bernard and Jean (Pudelek) Wojtasik. Gary worked at ADT as an alarm specialist for 20 years.
Gary had a love for various sports such as football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and bowling. He had an incredible memory for all sports trivia. But his favorite passion was for fishing. He loved the challenge to catch a Tiger Musky. His record catch was in July of 2010 for a Tiger Musky that was 48“and weighed 30 lbs. That special record fish hangs in the Fishing Hall of fame in Wisconsin. He also was avid music lover for Christian Worship songs and loved reading his bible. He loved to sing and praise the Lord listening to various Christian artists. He was known for his quick wit, stories, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He also had a heart for those who were homeless and going through challenges in their lives.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Bernard, sister Denise and brother Bernard Jr. He is survived by his mother Jean Wojtasik, of Seminole, Fl., sister Nora Obrecht of Kansas City, Mo., and sister Bonnie Wojtasik of Seminole, Fl., Sister-in-law Kathy Wojtasik of Palm Harbor, his favorite Auntie Genevieve Vyduna and her husband Leonard Vyduna of Seminole, Florida, Niece Margaret Myers and her husband Joe of Sunrise, Florida, Nephews Michael Obrecht and his wife Emily of Lombard, Illinois, and John Paul Wojtasik and his wife Christy of Altamonte Springs, Florida. Great Nieces Samantha, Abby Rose, and great nephews Jake, Sean, Luke and Andrew. Also, many cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at Memorial Park in
St. Petersburg, Florida at 1:00 pm – 3:00 PM.
In lieu of Flowers, a donation to Salvation Army for the homeless in Gary’s name would be appreciated.
