They moved to Kenneth City shortly after. Gary attended Westgate and Blanton Elementary, then Tyrone Jr. High, where he established many lifelong friendships and participated in various sports. He also met his life long love, Cindy Shively. Gary was a 3 time AAU Wrestling State Champ and 1968 Olympic Trial Qualifier in wrestling. He graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in 1969, and in July married Cindy. Their son Ralph arrived in 1970! They bought their first house in Largo, Florida and began their yearly vacations to the mountains and the beaches. Over the years they enjoyed Friday nights out with the Burn's family, then Saturday nights would hit the town with other "69'ers dancing, rockin and rollin. In 1973 Cindy graduated from USF and became a library media specialist. In 1976 they moved to Bay Pines and daughter, Erica Lee was born in 1977 During the 80's Gary focused his free time on the kids: fishing, coaching and watching sports. He also participated in masters track and flag football. H attending daily wrestling practices with his son who also graduated from Dixie Hollins. This decade a new family tradition started, going to Ceder Key with Mark and Darlene where we enjoyed fishing and the spectacular seafood feasts! He also discovered his love for gourmet cooking. In the 90's his daughter played competitive soccer and track at Seminole and CCC. Ralph graduated from University of Florida with a degree in Architecture. Erica played one year for Florida State University's first women's soccer team and graduated with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance. Many weekends Gary cooked for friends as we watched football or just sat on the deck. In 2000's Gary and Cindy continued to enjoy trips with life long friends and new friends: the Robbin's, Yacko's, Burn's, and Cohen's. Three grandchildren brought new adventures and joy to our family, Parker (9), Zoe (6) and Tessa (2). In 2007 Gary retired closed the family business. He celebrated his retirement with twenty five friends on an Alaskan Cruise, that he thought would never end. Our only regrets are that he did not get to fulfill some of his life long dreams to go to Costa Rica and Australia, but most important influencing his grandchildren's lives!
