Gail Mary Adams' Obituary
Gail Mary Adams, 85 of St. Petersburg, Florida died on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from natural causes.
Gail was a proud military wife who enjoyed traveling the world with her family. She was a deeply religious woman who donated her time and resources to St. Giles Episcopal Church where she was a lifelong member. Gail was an accomplished crochet enthusiast who also loved to bake delicious desserts for her family.
Gail was an only child born in Long Branch, New Jersey in December of 1938 to Anthony (Bob) and Helen Klubertanz, who moved the family to St. Petersburg in 1950. As a girl, Gail loved riding her horse Flicka and hanging out with friends. She graduated from Boca Ciega High School in 1956 and within a couple of years met her lifelong companion, Tom. Gail spent thirty years as a military spouse, living in Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Germany, California, Florida and Japan. She loved her dog KoKo who spent most of her time on Gail’s lap.
One of our favorite stories Gail would relate to us was the time in 1956 when she was invited backstage at an Elvis Presley concert at the Fort Hesterly Armory in Tampa. Elvis and one of the other performers drove her and a couple of other girls home singing all the way there.
Gail will always be remembered for being the one person her family could count on when they needed her most and for her keen sense of humor that was present until her very last days. She was a spiritual role model for all those who knew her well. We will always remember her watching General Hospital and reaching for her stash of chocolate candy.
We couldn’t have asked for a better mom, grammy and friend and will miss Gail tremendously each and every day. She will live on in our hearts forever and always. We miss you Mom but find peace in knowing that you have been accepted into Heaven to be with Dad.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband CMSGT Thomas G. Adams and is survived by her four children, Sherry (and Mike) Eck, Kristy Grunden, Tom (and Kim) Adams and Rob Adams. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Jonathan, Tommy, Susanna, Jake and Zack and seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Mariah, Miranda, Remington, Sean, Peyton and Aiden.

The viewing will take place from 12:30 – 1:30pm immediately followed by a celebration of Gail’s life at 1:30pm.
