Mr. Frank J. Novarro's Obituary
Frank J. Novarro of St Petersburg, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 1, 2019 in St. Anthony's Hospital - St. Petersburg. He was 80.
Frank was born July 11, 1939 in New Haven, Connecticut to Tony “Red” Novarro and Mary Guerriero Novarro. He was known as “Crazy Legs Frank” in the late 1950s for his dancing skills on the New Haven version of American Bandstand. He had multiple businesses throughout his career, but was most notable as one of the largest HUD landlords in St. Petersburg during the 1970s, running oil wells in Triad Mining & Petroleum, and his flower shop Nova Discount Floral.
In December, 2014, he began his career as a funeral staff associate with Memorial Park Funeral Home in St Petersburg. A valued member of the funeral home staff, Frank proudly served his community and attended to the needs of the many families he served with the utmost care and compassion. Frank will be deeply missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
Frank is survived by his separated wife Marion, two daughters Cheryl (Cheri) Engala and Valerie Novarro, one grandson Ryan Engala, 3 sisters (Teresa, Philamena, and Nancy), 3 brothers (Tony, Art, and Nate), and multiple nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, August 10th at 3pm (with a small reception to follow) at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th Street North, St Petersburg, FL 33709.
