Mr. Frank C. Heinz's Obituary
HEINZ, Frank C. , 94, longtime resident of Florida, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his home in Largo. Services and burial will begin with a visitation at 9:00 am Friday June 9, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL. Frank was born in historic Vincennes, IN November 26, 1922, the son of Herman and Golda Heinz. Mr. Heinz was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served our country in the Pacific Theatre at Iwo Jima. He served the Lord as a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church in Vincennes. Mr. Heinz was a competitive athlete, state marble champion, and an avid golfer with two career aces. He was part owner of a family industrial plumbing and heating company (H.G. Heinz) that was involved in major construction projects at Vincennes University, Good Samaritan Hospital and many high school consolidations. Mr. Heinz also became a partner of Blackburn & Heinz (B&H). B&H built two nursing homes and purchased and converted buildings into businesses in Vincennes including a sporting goods store (The Old Post), storage facilities, and converting one of the oldest local hotels into shops and student housing. Frank is survived by current loving wife of 22 years, Wanda. Wanda’s children include son Stuart Buck of Republic, WA and daughter Karen Teschner of Decatur, IL, and their children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Mrytle. Their surviving children include son Ed and Pam Heinz of Guilford, IN, daughter Ellen and Bill Bernhardt of Tampa, FL, son Jim and MaryAnn Heinz of Jacksonville, FL and son Rick and Dianna Heinz of Hinsdale, IL, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
