Felonise L. Cook's Obituary
Called Fel by her friends, Mrs. Cook was born in Russell, Kentucky, March 25, 1921. She was a graduate of Russell High School and later earned a B.S. degree from Eastern Kentucky Teachers College, now a university. Before her marriage, Mrs. Cook was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Russell school system. For several years during her marriage, she was a sales counselor with Donald E. Grempler Real Estate Co. in Towson, Maryland. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Mistletoe Chapter #144 of the Order of Eastern Stars most of her life. In 1979, she and her husband, Glynn F. Cook, retired to Mainlands in Pinellas Park, Florida. Mrs. Cook was an active member of the United Methodist Church, as well as the United Methodist Women. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bridge, bingo, and canasta, Her husband Glynn pre-deceased her in death in 2002. Also pre-deceasing her were her parents, Charles and Biddie Ruth Leake and her two brothers Jim and Austin Leake. Mrs. Cook is survived by their two sons, Charles Cook of Norfolk, Va., and Keith Cook (Robin) of Glen Burnie, MD, plus Keith and Robin's three daughters, Aly, Lauren, and Erin and their husbands Justin, Ryan, and Joe, as well as their children Evelyn, Ian, Olivia, and Ryleigh. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Cook moved to Freedom Square in Seminole, Florida, where she resided approximately 15 years in independent living and then roughly 4 years in assisted living. She passed July 29, 2021, in the rehab section of The Inn at Freedom Square. Mrs. Cook achieved her goal of reaching age 100. In lieu of flowers, kindly send donations to the United Methodist Church in Pinellas Park.
