Mr. Felix Holmes Lee III's Obituary
Lee, Felix Holmes “Buddy”, 67, passed into peace on April 10, 2015 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s, a battle he fought with dignity and grace. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Coleen Kelly Lee; sisters Amelia Lee and Annie Laurie Rodosta; nephew Joseph Rodosta and his wife, Kathy; long-time friend , Jo Carter; sisters- in-law Kate Connelly (and Family) and Maureen Kelly; brothers-in-law Robert Kelly, T.J. Kelly (and family) and Sean Kelly; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred Sullivan Lee and Felix Holmes Lee, Jr. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and grew up in Zachary, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana State University where he played quarterback for the LSU Tiger team that won the 1970 Southeastern Conference Championship. In 1971 he was drafted by the Chicago Bears and was later traded to the LA Rams. He has resided in St. Petersburg since 1981. His career in real estate loan finance spanned three decades including positions with Guaranty Savings and Rothschild Financial, co-ownership of Financial Mortgage Consultants, and a partnership with Florida Bond & Mortgage. He was an avid golfer and member of the Polywogs golf club. He was the best of men, a true southern gentleman who valued family and friends. He will be remembered for his integrity, patience, kindness, easy-going manner, southern drawl, sense of humor and “athletic lope”. Many thanks to his kind caregivers at Arden Courts, Allegro and Suncoast Hospice. Visitation will be held on April 16th from 6-8pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on April 17th at 9:30am at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, 101 58th Street S.
