Faye Elizabeth Waters
Sept. 26, 1932 – August 17, 2019
Faye Elizabeth “Liz” lived a joyfully spirited life. She peacefully joined her Heavenly Father in the early morning of August 17, 2019 at home. She born to the late Ephriam Thomas of Tallahassee and the late Mattie Norton Thomas of Monticello, FL, sister of deceased LB Tutson and John “Toppy” Thomas. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Lillie Mae Peterson. Faye moved to St. Pete and graduated in 1950 from Gibbs High School. She attended Hampton Institute in Virginia and USF-Tampa. Faye eventually retired from Pinellas County Schools.
The union of George D. Waters and Faye created six children. One son, Alexander “Doc” Waters preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish five surviving children, Lillian Waters, George Jr., Patricia Waters Thomas, Elizabeth Tracy Waters McCoy and Denise Waters Grant; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and one nephew; all reside in St. Petersburg.
