Evelyn N Watts' Obituary
Evelyn Norma Mennecke Watts, age 80, Born Aug 29, 1936, bore 3 daughters. Deborah Ann Cook, Mary Evelyn Mae Watts (Buttons) and Barbara Jean Watts. Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah and is survived by 2 daughters, 1 grandson, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. She worked at several radio stations, WWBA, WWLF, SUN SPORTS, a Funeral Home, Irwin Yachts, ABC Pest Control as a bookkeeper/receptionist/secretary. She enjoyed working at each place as she met new folks and made life long friends. At night she worked at many known restaurants as a waitress. She worked at Seamans Cove, Hawaiian Inn and Biilys Tierra Verde where she worked up to Floor Manager. She got to meet a lot of different folks here. She met Hulk Hogan as they filmed Thunder in Paradise from the dock area and she met many singers/bands to include Jimmy Buffet, Pink Floyd, Sha Na Na. There are many others but too many to name. She was very good at what she did. On her time off which was very unusual, she spent time with us going to the beach or time watching TV to relax. She also one day a week she would go out and play bingo. We knew how tired she was and understood why she worked 2 jobs. She was ensuring that her daughters had housing, food and clothing. As time went along, her first and only Grandchild was born. William Joshua David Watts. This young man is her pride and joy. She doted on him and always had little grandma surprises. She took him everywhere and everywhere they went, she showed him off. To this day, William is the apple of her eye, her little man of the house. I am sure that when she hears him call her name, her heart melts. One of the funniest memories that William has is when Grandma got a new car with a car alarm. She would hit the wrong button every time or open the door without turning it off and had everyone's attention and as she would fumble to try and get it turned off and by now they are laughing so hard they're crying. Every time William heard a car alarm he would say grandma....even though it wasn't hers and she would laugh at that. All in all, Evelyn had a great life. There are 2 things our Mom always told us as children and as adults, was I love you and that her mother was her best friend and we are happy that not only is she with Father God, she is now with her best friend. She has now gone on to be with the Lord our Father God in heaven and may she walk the streets of gold by his side. For it is well, it is well with our soul.
