Evelyn Suzanne Barron's Obituary
E. Suzanne Shidemantle Pataski Barron passed away on January 17, 2023. A proud generation Pennsylvanian from a pioneer family of Western PA, she was born on January 18, 1938, in Lawrence County to the late Irvin and Elizabeth Turner Shidemantle and raised in Butler County in Western PA. Suzanne went to grade school in Portersville, PA and graduated from Slippery Rock High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many.
Suzanne attended Business School in Pittsburgh, PA and worked for First Federal Savings & Loan in New Castle, PA and while there, she attended Westminster and Grove City College along with attending the Savings & Loan Institute through employment with First Federal Savings & Loan Assoc. Suzanne later worked for Friendship Federal and the Butler County Commissioners Office while living in Butler and raising her family. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
Suzanne later moved to Camp Hill, PA and worked for Sun Motor Cars, a Mercedes Benz dealership, as a Customer Service Representative and also worked for International Auto Shows in Harrisburg, PA. From there, she moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and worked at Northrop Security Defense Systems in Annapolis, Maryland. She also attended Anne Arundel College in Annapolis and studied and sold Real Estate in that area. Later, Suzanne moved and lived in the St Petersburg, Florida area for many years retiring from the JCPenney Company selling furniture. She had many wonderful friends and greatly enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg.
Suzanne is survived by her son, James Pataski of Renfrew, PA and daughter Beth Ann Pataski-Fay (Merrill Fay) of Gilford, NH; granddaughters Gwendolyn Crafts (Scott Graff) of Arlington, VA and Cora Crafts (David Yagy) of Gloucester, MA; grandsons Michael Pataski of Rapid City, South Dakota and Nicholas Pataski of Sarasota, FL; brothers James (Donna) Shidemantle, Portersville, PA, Ronald (Linda) Shidemantle New Sewickley Twp, PA and Robert (Judy) Shidemantle, Harrisville, PA plus many nieces and nephews and their families who all live in and around Western Pennsylvania.
Suzanne was pre-deceased by her son Robert (Bobby) Pataski, and her grandson Mischa Pataski-Fay who both passed tragically when they were 17 respectively. They were both very precious to her as well as her parents, grandparents and many loved relatives and special friends who passed on before her.
A memorial to celebrate her life will be held privately by family at Butler Memorial Park at a later date.
