Eva Buszke Swanson's Obituary
Eva was a very kind and caring person. She loved and cared for her children, grandchildren, and pets dearly and unconditionally. Eva B. Swanson, 96, of Madeira Beach, FL, died in her home of natural causes on April 10th, 2024.
She was born in 1927 to parents David and Maria Augusta Buszke in Marienburg, West Prussia, a place she loved and the home of the King of Prussia, Friedrich the Great. She had two sisters, Kathe and Gertraud (Traute), and grew up with many Siamese cats. She graduated from a four-year bachelor’s in science and arts at the Lyceum (European School) in only two years. She was accepted to this elite school and program as an exceptional and gifted student. Eva emigrated to the US in the late 1950s. She met and married George Gordon Swanson shortly after living in New York. They moved to Matawan, New Jersey, in the early 1960s. Eva raised two children, Gordon and Matthew. Christmas and Easter were her favorite holidays, and she would decorate the house and generously give gifts and baked goods to all her loved ones. Eva had seven grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Eric, Emmaline, Daniel Noah, and Samuel (Gordon's children). Annika and Lukas (Matthew's Children). She had two nephews, David, and Hans Jurgen; and Nicolas (Hans Jurgen's Son). All were very special to Eva. Eva has many pets. She loved all her pets; her dogs Tippy, Harold, Pumpkin, Timber, Maggie, and Snowball; her cats - Stubby, Blackie and Chippy. Eva provided Chippy with a forever home after previous owners returned her to the shelter multiple times.
Eva worked for the US Army in Germany after World War 2. When she moved to NY, she worked as a secretary. After raising children, she became a successful Estate Agent. Eva was a very talented artist. She loved to draw, paint, and sculpt and would master every art medium. She was also an exceptional cook and baker. Eva will always be remembered around the holidays for decorating the house, baking cookies, and being so generous to everyone. We couldn't ask for a better mom, grandmother, or friend. We all will cherish, love, and miss Eva greatly.
Eva was preceded in death by George Swanson (Husband), Kathe Hopp (Sister), and Gertraud (Traute) Worland. Eva is survived by her son, Gordon Swanson, and his five children, Eric, Emmaline, Daniel, Noah, and Sam. Her son Matthew, his wife Jian, and their two children, Annika, and Lukas. Her Nephew Hans Jurgen, his wife Doris, and son Nicolas. Her Nephew David and his children.
