Eugene 'Gene' Lightfield's Obituary
Eugene “Gene” M. Lightfield, 86, of Pinellas Park, FL went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Northside Hospital. Gene was born in Waterloo, Iowa and moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1958. He is a veteran of the United States Army and retired Pinellas Park Fire Department as District Chief. He was a member of Starkey Road Baptist Church in Seminole, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his lovely wife of 53 years, Marjorie “Molly” (Lindsey) Lightfield. Gene is survived by his two sons, Dennis D. (Stacy Perry) of Sarasota, FL and Scott E. (Michelle LaBrie) of Brooksville, FL; daughter, Geanna L. (Troy Evans) of Madison Heights, VA; sister, Shirley Kool of Sylvia, NC; two brothers, Randy and Rollin of St. Petersburg, FL; seven grandchildren, Charbee, Robby, Zach, Laura, Amber, Sarah, and Merisa; and 12 great grandchildren.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He shared his love of cars and NASCAR with his sons and grandsons.
A funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Starkey Road Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 8800 Starkey Rd, Seminole, FL 33777 in Gene’s memory.
