Esther Jamurath's Obituary
Esther Jamurath passed away peacefully at 94 years old on December 2d, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends.
Esther was born on the Island of Trinidad and Tobago on December 01st 1930, to the parents of James and Susan Gangadeen, who migrated from Grenada.
She was the sister of the late Iris, Gladys, Jerome, Ronald, Gracie, and Agustus.
In June of 1950, she married Evans Jamurath, together they shared a loving marriage for 58 years.
She was always interested in beauty, and making women look good, she became a licensed hair stylist in her 20's and started her own at home business, later opening her own salon in San Juan, which was a major accomplishment for her and an inspiration to the women around her.
She travelled to the United States, to further her skills in Hairdressing, then later moved to New York. In addition to her hairstyling career, she also worked for Woolworth Department stores in New York and Jersey City, until retirement.
Esther and Evans sold their home in Jersey City and moved to Orlando Florida, in 1997.
They were blessed with good-hearted neighbors, who became faithful lifelong friends to her and Uncle Evans.
Together they traveled the world and saw many different places and experienced different cultures.
After the passing of Uncle Evans in 2008, she lived alone for a few years, before moving in with Jerry, Sharmaine, Roger and Jennifer in 2020 to spend the rest of her days in Clearwater.
She survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors.
