Emily Marano's Obituary
Marano, Emily, 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007. She was born on August 22, 1920 to Josephine (Fischetti) and John Magnotta in Guardia Lombardi, Italy. She emigrated to White Plains in 1935 and married George Joseph Marano on September 22, 1946 at Mt. Carmel Church, and moved to Florida, where they built the Park Lawn Mobile Home Park in Pinellas Park. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George, her brothers Alfonso, Carl, Gaetano, and Angelo Magnotta and her sister Maria Grazia. She was on the board of directors for the family owned bar, named the Emerald, on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg since 1950. She was active in operation of the bar until about five years ago. Emily was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Lake Seminole Country Club. She loved to golf and enjoyed cooking for Sunday family dinners by the pool. She will be remembered for her smile. Emily is survived by her son, George W., Pinellas Park; daughter, Betty Jo Barrett, Pinellas Park; and four grandchildren, Vicky Sharp, Michael Marano, Alex Barrett and Steven Barrett. Besides her immediate family, Emily will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-5 PM Sunday, Nov.18, 2007. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Entombment following in Calvary Catholic Cemetery
