Emanuel "Manny" Orenberg's Obituary
Orenberg, Emanuel, “Manny”, age 94, of Seminole, passed away the morning of September 7th, 2015 at the Bay Pines VA Hospital. Manny was born in Philadelphia, PA, but spent his working years in Washington, DC, and Baltimore, Maryland, before retiring and moving to Florida.
Manny served in World War II and was very active in the Disabled American Veterans in Maryland. He also spent over 40 years as a volunteer at various Veterans Administration Hospitals in Maryland and Florida. He loved to talk about his experiences during the war.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mollie Orenberg and brother Louis Orenberg.
Emanuel is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Ruth; daughters Nancy Hanley, Deann Verdier and Karen Janus; grandchildren Heath and Bil Bowman and Robert and Jacqueline Verdier, as well as great grandchildren Jacob, Mary Jane and Miles Bowman."
Upon returning from the war, Manny worked as a salesman representing various companies over the years, from gourmet foods to industrial cleaning supplies. He was most proud of the time he spent as the General Manager of the Disabled American Veterans Charity/Thrift Stores in the state of Maryland.
Manny loved to travel and saw much of the world by cruise ship.
Services were held at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5750 49th St. N. on Wednesday, September 9th.
