Elsie Verna Davis' Obituary
Davis, Elsie Verna "Jones", 90, of Pinellas Park, Florida passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Savior on 6/19/2012 at Hospice Pinellas Park. She was born on 12/20/1921 in Leslie, Georgia to her parents, Josiah and Ruth.
Elsie was 1 of 7. She married Robert in Baton Rouge, LA on May 5, 1942. They had 2 children. She attended St. Petersburg High School and graduated in 1940. She was a longtime resident of Pinellas Park, Florida for 70 years and employed by St. Petersburg Junior College as a Scholarship Department Counselor and retired after 15 years. Elsie was a member of 60th Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing, Church and Family.
Elsie will be remembered by her loving children Lorraine Afalla (Jon) and Wayne Davis. She is also survived by Tanya (Ryan) Afalla-Cooke, grand-daughter, Tiare (Fred) Afalla-Constantino, grand-daughter, Iokepa Constantino, great Grandson; from her Daughter and Sean (Emma) Walter grandson, Marissa Davis Grand-daughter from her son, Nita (Walter) Upman Sister, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert W. Davis.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing for Elsie at 60th Street Baptist Church on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 2-3PM with the service at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be given to 60th Street Baptist Church, Pinellas Park, FL, or Suncoast Hospice.
