Elliot served honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam War, displaying courage and dedication to his country. After his military service, he transitioned to a successful career as a consultant with the GTE Phone Company, where he was respected for his expertise and work ethic.
Known affectionately as "Superman" by those close to him, Elliot could fix anything and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He deeply cared about his family and was regarded as a genuinely nice person. His passions included kayaking and spending time in the Smoky Mountains, activities that brought him great joy and peace.
Elliot is survived by his loving wife, Linda J. Hawethorne (nee Russell); daughters, Rebecca Zahn and Amy (Joel) Stilwell; grandchildren, Kady Bruce, Josie Baker, Jack Zahn, Jasmine Stilwell, and Lucas Zahn; great-grandson, Izzy McKeown; and his loyal dog, P. Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliot G. Hawethorne and Susan Dolores Hawethorne (nee Marcin).
