Elizabeth P MacNeil's Obituary
MacNeil, Elizabeth Harkey, 94, born in St. Petersburg. Graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1943. She was the first Miss St. Petersburg after World War II in 1946. She graduated from Florida State University in 1949. While at FSU she won Miss Tallahassee in 1948. She taught in the American Overseas Schools in Japan, England and Germany. She was an elementary teacher and librarian for 26 years in Pinellas County. She belonged to the Florida Retired Educators Association for 4 years. She was a member of Florida Gamma Upsilon Alpha Delta Kappa, an International Women’s Education Sorority. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the librarian for many years.
She is survived by her children, Donald MacNeil and Betty Pola, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
A committal service is Thursday, August 11, at 10:00 AM, at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be accepting visitors half an hour prior at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
