Eleanor R Rouse's Obituary
Eleanor Ulmer Rouse, age 79, passed away April 4th.
She was born(1940) & raised in Williamsport, PA.
She moved to Orlando, FL with her husband in 1959.
In 1961 they moved to St. Petersburg. She raised 4
children, was active in the Girl Scouts for over 20 years,
active in Little League and Girls Softball in Seminole,
scorekeeping and running the concession stand.
She joined Trinity United Church of Christ in 1961
and faithfully worshipped every week. Over the years
she has been a Sunday School teacher, Coordinator
for VBS many years, and served on various boards
and committees. She was also an active member of the
FL United Church of Christ Women’s group. She served
on the board as Vice President for several years which
involved coordinating their statewide annual meetings.
She was active in the Red Hat Society Scarlett O’Hatters
Chapter in St Petersburg for the last 10 years. She enjoyed
painting ceramics and making items for family & friends.
She worked in retail for over 25 yrs at Robinsons, Maison
Blanche and Dillards at Tyrone Sq mall . She was a loving
Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother and will be
truly missed.
She is survived by her Brother, Harry Ulmer and Sister, Cecelia Poorman both of Clinton, AR
Daughters: Eleanor Rouse Bates of St. Petersburg and Brenda Rouse Hodge of Pinellas Park
Son-in-laws: Lee Bates of St. Petersburg and Martin Schrader, of Chiefland, FL
Grandsons: Chris Nelson Sr. & Robert Hodge III of St Petersburg and Matthew Schrader of
Chiefland, FL
Granddaughters: Kristine Schrader Dillon of Chiefland, FL and Samantha Schrader of St.
Petersburg
Great-grandsons: Christian Schrader, Noah Hobbs & Michael Schrader from Chiefland, FL and
Christopher Nelson Jr of St Petersburg.
Great – granddaughters: Lisa & Issabelle Nelson of St. Petersburg
Nieces: Debbie Applegate of Little Rock, AR and Darlene Madison of Clinton AR
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Lewis Rouse Sr. and her children, Lewis Rouse Jr. and Sharon Schrader, her mother Lillian Aucker Ulmer and her father Clarence H Ulmer.
In lieu of flowers we are asking donations to be made to Trinity UCC mailed to our Treasurer’s address below since the Church office is closed due to COVID 19.
