Mrs. Edwina "Dean" Hussey Hunter's Obituary
Edwina “Dean” Hussey (Clark) Hunter, 100, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016. A native of Damariscotta, ME, she has resided in St. Petersburg since she and her husband moved here in 1946. She received her RN training at Massachusetts General Hospital and served in the Army with the 5th General Hospital Unit from 1942-1946. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Clark and Schuyler Hunter. She is survived by her sister, Adelyn Hussey Boyce; her daughter, Gaire Clark Distler, her son, Earl M. Clark, and step-daughter, Anne Hunter Wickes; her grandchildren, Jessica (Clayton) Griffin, Emily Distler, Lindsay Clark, Joseph Clark, Abigail (Chris) Fulton, and Matthew Wickes. Dean volunteered often to help others by devoting time to Girl Scouts, American Red Cross, the Altar Guild, and the Heart Association. She also enjoyed playing bridge often with her good friends.
Her memorial service will be held at St. Vincent’s Episcopal Church on Saturday January 23rd at 11am.
