Edward William Reith's Obituary
Edward William Reith, 93, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on April 23, 2024.
Born June 24, 1930, to Charles Reith and Dorothy Schmidt, Edward grew up in the hamlet of West Hampstead on Long Island in New York. He completed his education and enlisted into the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, Edward worked in the automotive parts industry. Edward spent much of his life living in Glens Falls, New York, and later in Tampa, Florida.
Edward spent his down time listening to country music or reading; he particularly enjoyed reading his local newspaper or surfing the web for articles. A proud fisherman and a skilled bowler, Edward was also a talented baker, renowned for his mean cheesecake recipe!
Edward was preceded death by his parents, as well as his son: Thomas Reith, and his son-in-law: Bruce Hagstrand.
His memory survives on Earth with his wife: Virginia Reith, his brother: Ronald Reith, his brother-in-law: Lou Salerno, his kids: Sharon (Rick) Butto, Dennis (Vicki) Reith, and Mary L. Hagstrand, his stepchildren: Charles Rosenblum, and Scott (Beth) Galvin, his grandchildren: Barry Schiller, Jessica Badger, Martha Reith, Matthew Reith, James Hagstrand, Erica Keays, Shay DeRusso, and Adam Luaces, as well as with his several great grandchildren.
Service is at Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell, Monday, April 29, 2024, 11:30 A.M.
