Edward Joseph Fleming III's Obituary
Edward Joseph Fleming III, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on January 13, 2024, in Seminole, Florida. He was born January 2, 1944, in Salina, Kansas.
Edward grew up in Pineville, Louisiana, and at the age of 15, he and his family moved to Florida, where he would create a memorable life. He attended Northeast High School and later pursued higher education at Pinellas Technical College.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As a member of the military, he exemplified dedication, resilience, and loyalty.
After his military service, Edward embarked on a successful career as a Crew Chief for the Pinellas County Government – Highway Department. He dedicated 24 years of his life to this role and retired in 2009.
Outside of his professional life, Edward had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting his favorite teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Lightning, and college football. He never wanted to miss a game. Edward found solace in gardening and took great pride in cultivating beautiful flowers. But above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Edward is survived by his loving spouse of 46 years, Marilynn Fleming, his sons Kevin (Chrissy) Fleming, Kyle (Xina) Fleming, as well as his cherished grandchildren C.J., Jesse, Kensington, and Jonathan. He is also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
The memorial service is Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
