I still cant believe im doing this or ever did. Its still horribley horribley hard to believe he's gone. One thing I know for sure,is he wont ever be forgotten.I still think about him and our memories everyday.And everyday its never ending crying missing him,and just wishing I could have just one more moment with him,like we all would. Mr.Chase-if your reading this from up there! I love and miss you! And I appreciate you and the friendship you've given me.Your my best friend in the world and want you to know.I haven't forgotten about you and never will.

I dont know what to say. I miss you Mr.Chase times a million. Life is so different without you.And I can't seem to let you go. You were my best friend in the whole world. Good friends dont come often,so I always appreciated you and mrs.chase (puppy dog). I wish you can come back for just one more day. I miss our evenings together,you,me and mrs.chase. Grandpa:
I know that you are in a better place and thankfully at peace, without all the sickness and pain, but it doesn't make us miss you any less. I know that only your body is gone and that you will live on forever in our hearts and with each memory you are a little closer to each of us and that is a comforting thought. I know you were proud of the service we had for you since it showed your loving and humorous ways and my friends all told me that without a doubt you must have been a real character based on those pictures and all the stories that were being told about you and it made it more of a celebration of your life which is what it should be. It was so hard to say goodbye to you, but again I know you will always be just a thought or memory away and nothing can ever take that away from me. I will always treasure those memories and will always do my best to be there for Grandma because she is the one having the hardest time. I think the poem I found and printed out for her is helping her to remember you are still there with her and that as much as you loved her there is no way that you would not continue to be there watching over her and that one day we will all be togethr again. It's been so hard lately with him not around. It's so weird too,im so used to seeing him every day its crazy to think he's gone. Ive been sitting around and I actually sat for an hour last night thinking of every memory I have,and I have millions. More times I havent posted was when he'd give us rides up and down the street with his tractor. I can remember alot of times he spoiled us rotten. All the times he took us out to the flea market, especially to the ice skating rink they used to have at Park Side Mall. He bought us so much food I thought I gained a million pounds :D. One of my favorite recent memories,was when Betty and Myron were getting ready to come down and visit. And we were betting on who would win the pool tournament we were going to have.Well Mr.Chase and I went out to the porch and were training to beat Myron,and show him how to play one serious game of pool.And Mr.Chase was like pretend im myron,and your hannah,well you don't haved to pretend cause you are hannah. And then we'd play,and he'd mock Myron (not in a mean way),and really pretended to be him,and we played and played and practiced. He was sooo funny that evening. Luckily he finally put the air conditioning on,because I lost 4 pounds playing,all that sweating...seriously...no kidding...then we had dinner and just chatted. Before we knew it betty and myron got here,and we had our tournament,won some lost some. It was a fun last week together...lets see...whats another good memory?......check back later,who ever is reading this. I have alot,but im trying to think of the best ones...hmmmm..which to choose?.OH!! Mrs.Chase can tell you all about this one. I used to twist paper REALLY good,and make it nice and pointy,and everyday that I came over and he was sleeping id sneak up and several times id tickle his ear,and he'd be like,"those da-n bugs," and id have such a hard time not laughing,and id keep doing that till I got caught. And another thing I did everyday,was id have mrs.chase pretend like nobody was at the door,like I just left,and it would be REALLY quiet,and id sneak up behind mr.chase,and yell BOO,or HI MR.CHASE! and he'd jump sooo high scared out of his mind,and then chase me for awhile. It was easier when he was on the webcam talking to Jerry or Dale,because he wouldn't be looking around,he'd be starring at the computer,and I can easy sneak up without getting caught :D! We have lots of memories,and he always gave me lots of advice and complements. He was the best!

Everyone has their own memories of Mr. Chase and what he meant to their lives. He made a huge difference in our lives. But it didn't begin that way back in 1991, a year after we moved on to the block. I used to play basketball with the neighbor kids before my children arrived--we had lots of fun. At times we would play into the evening--often until 10:00 P.M. Unknown to us at the time, we were driving Mr. and Mrs. Chase nuts. Before long we started to get numerous letters in our mail box demanding that we stop playing basketball. We mostly ignored his demands until he threatened to take us to court. I can remember telling my wife that I can't believe he is making such an issue about us playing basketball--the kids could be getting into trouble, and he's worrying about basketball. My first inclination after the last letter of demand was to give in to his demands, but my wife wouldn't hear anything about that. She promptly wrote Mr. Chase a letter of reply and told him to mind his own business. Before long we came together and developed a truce and had a big laugh together. We never forgot that time in our lives, and we look on that time as Mr. Chase's way of getting to know his neighbors. We later found that his real concern was the ball bouncing, which to them seemed to reverberate throughout his home. But when all was said and done, we played basketball until 11:00 P.M. and Mr. Chase even joined us at times. This is one lasting memory that proved to be the beginning of a lasting friendship. We will forever appreciate the time that we shared with Mr. Chase, and we look forward to honoring his memory in helping Mrs. Chase in the days ahead. Don

I will always treasure memories of Ed. I first met him at my wedding and we immediately connected as if I had known him for a long time. He was fun loving, kind and very accommodating. I always enjoyed our visits with Mom and Ed whether it was Florida or when they came to visit us in Virginia. It was like having my parents visit with me. I will always remember Ed with fondness and love.

Grandpa was many things - kind, loving - but what I remember most was that he was honest, with others and with himself. I remember karaoke nights when he would belt out the tunes he loved most, and while I wouldn't refer to him as the next Pavarotti he put his heart into every note. Never one to mince words, he always spoke what was on his mind. You didn't always agree with him, but you respected the fact that he was direct with you and always said what he meant. We love you Grandpa, we miss you, and we'll see you again when our time comes. Until then, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I am truly very sorry to hear about Edward's passing. I still remember that one summer when my dad took us to St petersburg and we stayed with him and Bernice. Very fond memories that I will treasure forever. I'm so happy that Ed and my dad reconnected before my dad's passing in May. Bernice and her family will be in my prayers. Love, Carissa

Grandpa was so much fun. He and I would karaoke all night, in full voice. Our favorite was "knock three times on the ceiling if you love me". He couldn't always get the right notes, but that made it even more fun because we'd just keep going, singing our favorite songs, just the two of us because we loved to sing together.

Mr.Chase to me was like a best bud. I have alot of memories with Mr.Chase. Ive known him the whole 17 years of my life. Im really going to miss the laughter and jokes. And once in awhile hearing him whistling outside,when he was either coming over or just getting his mail. Sometimes he'd whistle while mowing the lawn. We did alot together. I will miss coming over for the both of them,watching T.V and eating ice cream,joking around,playing pool. I also have memories of times he took my siblings and I to the florida state fair,ice skating,out to eat. Sometimes he'd pick us up from school. Also the times when laura and I would go really early to their house for breakfast before school.I can really go on and on with lots of memories,most of them funny ones. He had a great sense of humor. I will also never forget some of the nicknames,and advice he gave me throughout the years that ive known him. I will always miss him,and it will definatley be different with him not around. I will never forget Mr.Chase!
