Edmund J. Gura's Obituary
Gura, Edmund, John, age 83, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday May 26, 2012 at Hospice House Woodside. He was born on October 28, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio to his parents, Kazimierz and Bernice (Ptak) Gura.
Edmund was one of 9 children. He married Dorothy (Searles) in Cleveland, Ohio on November 7, 1952. They had 2 children. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He was a longtime resident of St. Petersburg, Florida for 30 years and employed by Republic Steel as a steel worker and foreman for 32 years. He enjoyed eating chili dogs and Washington squares, bowling, going to flea markets, gallivanting around town, sharing the newspaper, and spending time with family and friends.
Edmund is survived and will be remembered by his loving wife Dorothy; their children, Joan (Larry) Roberts and Michael (Kim) Gura. He is also survived by grandchildren Brian Hundley, Joseph Kolarz, Ashley, Brittany, and Ryan; his siblings Jeanie, Mildred, Stanley, and Lillian. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother; he was an uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. He was predeceased by siblings Kay, Joseph, and Lee.
Relatives and friends are invited to a service of remembrance for Edmund at 11:00am on Monday, 05/28/2012 at Hospice House Woodside. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida.
