Edith Mary Jenkins' Obituary
Jenkins, Edith Mary, another one of our greatest generation, passed from this earth April 27, 2014. Edith was born on March 4, 1923 to Alfred W. Roberts and Semalena Roberts in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her only brother Alfred W. Roberts Jr. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1941 and enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 and became an Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class. While in the Navy, she met her future husband and love of her life, Arthur F. Jenkins. They were married in 1944 where they lived in Methuan, Massachusetts until 1951 when they moved to the St. Petersburg area with their children. Edith for four children, Susan D. Winters (Bob), Beverly A. Hughes (Bob), Arthur L. Jenkins (Susan) and Andrew K. Jenkins. She retired from Concept Company. She had eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, with one more to come. Edith was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Beverly Ann, who are both waiting to welcome her home. Friends and family are welcome to visit at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, May 3rd from 1pm with service to begin at 2pm.
