Earl Francis Molloy Jr's Obituary
Earl Francis Molloy, Jr.
With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our loved and cherished father, Earl Francis Molloy, Jr. He played his last round on June 22, 2026, at the age of 94.
From humble beginnings during the height of the depression, Earl was born on March 6, 1932, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Earl and Sara Molloy. He grew up in the same neighborhood until graduating high school with his younger brother Michael (deceased). After high school, he enlisted in the army on an ROTC program and served in Germany. Upon returning home, he finished college and graduated with a degree in accounting. The accounting firm of Ernst & Young hired him, and he rose quickly to become their youngest partner at the time. Eventually, he retired as a managing partner. But even with all this success, the most important thing to him was marrying the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Molloy (deceased).
He is survived by his 3 children, Brian (Marie-Hélène), Connie (Dean), Douglass (Mary Lou), grandchildren, Sean, Luke, Rachel (Tommy), Eric, Taya, Matthew and great granddaughter, Gwendolyn.
In his life he demonstrated the important values of hard work, respect for all people, problem solving, strength, patience, generosity, honesty, compassion and most importantly love and devotion to his family. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He loved to laugh. He was a huge sports fan and great athlete in his day. And of course, he was a heck of a golfer.
For the last 25 years of his life, he lived with Neuropathy, which left him disabled and eventually unable to walk. We never heard him complain once that he was given a bad break or any self-pity. He considered himself a lucky man. He was old school in the best sense. We love him and miss him deeply.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10 AM at Memorial Park Funeral Home: 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, Fl 33709. Following Services, Earl will be laid to rest with an Inurnment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery: 5233 118th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33760.
