Rev. Dr. Glenn W. Catlin's Obituary
Catlin, Rev. Dr. Glenn W., of Westminster Palms in St. Petersburg was born on April 26, 1924. He died on August 5, 2008. He was a retired Presbyterian minister who served as pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, as well as Presbyterian churches in Pennsylvania, Illinois, North Carolina and Georgia. He also served as Associate Pastor and Choir Director of the American Baptist Church of the Beatitudes in St. Petersburg. For a time he worked with the American Camping Association on a national scale. He graduated from the University of Indianapolis and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
He was an affiliate clergy member of First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg and a member of Great River Presbytery of Peoria, IL. Until his death, he conducted monthly church worship services for the Westminster Palms Health Center where he had been a patient for over a year.
Survivors include his wife of twenty four years, Phoebe Beath Catlin; one daughter, Emily Gross of Chicago, IL; one son, Dr. Mark Catlin of Rochester, NY; one step-daughter, Mary Elizabeth Beath of Albuquerque, NM; two grandsons, Peter Glenn Catlin and Andrew Charles Catlin; and one brother, David Catlin of Mt. Zion, IL.
He is a published author and poet. His books are Grandpa Tollie's Depression Farms, 2004, and Angel Play, A Celebration in Poems,
